WOW killer toning and surfaces ... Very nice Doug !!

I appear to be high bidder on a gold guinea at DLRC. I placed a bid and didn't think I'd be high bid ... go figure!!

WOW, very nice looking proof, the color looks sweet. I have purchased a number of coins from DLRC and I agree there coins always look better in hand than their bad scans. I'm happy you did not pick up a Georgie 4 farthing.

Here's a companion piece that'd look good with your new purchase image It's currently listed on Clark Smith's site.

thanks for the nice comments all, I'll have some proper pictures taken of it when it arrives, which should be much better than DLRC's lifeless scans.

    thanks!

Krause has this coin listed at $150 in proof. That can't be right is it? How close is that to todays market? Georgous coin. One can never do bad with miss vicky.image

I, and one other forum member, got a deal on ours for under $500. One just sold on ebay for $900, and i've seen one in a higher grade (PF67 if i recall) go for around $1300

Spink likewise, at 190 (under $272 presently) quid in the 2008 guide for an FDC coin. But then, don't get me started on a retail/auction establishment which 'maintains' a price guide.............I guess it's really only a "guide". imageimage

That's an amazing coin that you are getting.Proof coins from Great Britain's Queen Victoria coinages are extremely scarce.
