Finally picked up another Russian coin........big copper

I haven't picked up anything Russian for quite some time now
Went to a local coin dealer and saw this lonely Russian 5 Kopecks.
Not the highest grade but couldn't resist this HUGE chunk of copper
btw, its very difficult to shoot an image of this one......not sure why though
Stefanie
I also think I need to let it soak in some mineral oil for a while as well. It also seams porous to me, what do you guy's say?

<< <i>You have Ike sized copper? I AM jealous! I gotta keep my eyes open for something like that. Imagine what it must have been like to carry the think new. I wonder what you could have bought with it. >>
That's exactly what I said as I was buying it.........WOW, think of what you were able to buy
with this big hunk of copper, although...probably not much in Russia
But a very awesome piece of copper

That is one very nice Czarist Russian 5 Kopecks that you have got there. This coin was struck at the Ekaterinburg Mint.
The Siberian coins are very difficult to find.
Aidan.
Great coins to collect, big as an Ike and two and a half times thicker.
As Mr Dundee would say.
"Now that's a coin"
Only problem is protecting them - too big for any safe holder I know of
and forget slabbing!
