I took what you said and spent a few minutes with Dr. Google. Here's what I learned.
The fraternity, Delta Chi, was founded by 11 LAW students at Cornell University in 1890. The Delta Chi started as a Law Fraternity. In 1922 they opened membership to vocations other than Law. In 1929 they were the first Fraternity to abolish hazing as part of Hell Week.
Two images from the Delta Chi emblem page are linked below. The one on the right looks pretty similar to the OP photo.
Bob, That's a very nice medal that you've got there.
How many of you have seen either or both 'Revenge of the Nerds' & 'Revenge of the Nerds II'? They are both about fraternities, which we don't have over here in New Zealand.
I've seen the nerd movies. Enjoyed them a lot when I was in college ('84-'90) (BSEE).
Saw a rerun of the first one just a week or so ago. Watched it with my daughter who's three. Funny what 20 years of perspective will bring to a movie. (eye-roll).
I used to think I was going to live my life as one of the smarty-kids in Real Genius, but twenty years later I'm about to sign the papers to form a company sponsored Toast Masters Chapter so our employees can learn to speak in front of a group. 20 years ago, I'd have thought putting on a tie was just choking off circulation to the brain. Now it's just part of the job. sigh... time sure flies doesn't it?
