How do you store your high value cards?

I have mine in a safe within my house. I've noticed that when I take them out, the flips are wrinkled, although the cards look fine. Has anyone else experienced this. What is the best place to store graded cards?
Thanks

  • Flips may be wrinkled due to moisture in the safe. Stick a few of those silicone gel pack thingys in the safe or a small box of baking soda if it is a large safe.

  • I send all of mine to Rube to watch over.He has quite the arsenal to protect them if needs be.

Matt Miller (MbMiiller25) sells graded card cases that are unbelievable. If you buy one you will not be disappointed.

A safe. No problems. Actually, I don't have that valuable of a collection but I would be sad if they burned up so I got a high fire proof safe.

In a flat rate priority mailing box next to my bed. Nothing like falling asleep to a high grade HOFer. My plan is to display my cards in a locked curio cabinet. Not the safest storage method, but I've got insurance.

I have a stash of those little square silica things that come in shoe boxes. I keep those with my cards. I think it works for moisture.

    Rube,

    This is the Truth:

I have a Great Uncle, lives in the hills of West Virginia, Clay County, Raises Corn, 10,000 acres for crops (Wink Wink). This is where the road ends and you take the two track the last 5 miles to his place. He is 86 and on his 5th wife, she is 28, lost the first 4 in childbirth, doesn't understand why they kick off after 12-15 kids. He has 46 Kids, two of the oldest run the Farm, and there are still 15-20 young ones running around. He has kids as young as 3-4 years old.

Doesn't believe in Banks, buy's 2 gallon Glass mason jars by the cases.
All proceeds from transactions on the farm for Corn (And unsaid Liquid derivitaves) are only done in Cash & Coins, preferably Dollars.
Some of my cousins have told me that they estimate over the last 60 years he has buried over 5,000 of these jars filled to the brim with Dollar coins and bills on his property. One cousin estimated to me one time after a little too much Liquid celebration that there was easily 5 million dollars buried on the place.

When he kicks, the scramble is going to be something worthy of a Hollywood Movie. I just know that with 46 kids I don't think I'll be on the list.

    Now that's some Buried Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!image

I used to keep them locked in a safe at home. Now they are scattered on top of my desk. I keep my safe closed but unlocked with pictures of my kids, film negatives, and other prized momentos of my kids that I don't want destroyed by a fire. I keep it unlocked in case of theft. The crook would open it and most likely leave everything alone in search of other vluables.

Some sets are in shoeboxes (the ones intended for cards [2 rows and holds approx 350]), others in 3-ring binders, and PSA only sets are in MJ Roop boxes.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

The only utensil(s) you would need at his place is a regular size, clear, (This is so you can judge the purity), mason Jar with a wide mouth, and never a mixer, A good WV Hillbilly would never dilute God's given Bounty!!!!!
