1986 Donruss Jose Canseco BGS 10 Sells For $410.55

This 1986 Donruss Jose Canseco BGS 10 just sold for $410.55. Assuming the final bid price is legitimate, that's pretty insane considering you can pick up a PSA 10 for less than $50.00. Heck, here's a PSA 10 with a BIN price of $69.99 if you can't wait.

Happens all the time. I sold a 1 of 1 BGS 10 for $150 when the PSA 10 equivalent is $10. People loooove artificial scarcity.

BGS 10 selling for 10x psa 10 is just as insane to me as a psa 10 selling for 10x a psa 8. people do loooove artificial scarcity don't they.

Classic under priced card. (BGS 10 aside).
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

    I think Zardoz purchased it.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I like Jose Canseco fine and I would be happy to pay five bucks for a PSA 9. However, paying $400? That's just a waste of money.

It might have changed hands in between, but an auction for the same 1986 Donruss Jose Canseco BGS 10 ended tonight with a high bid of $224.50; quite a drop from the high bid of $410.55 back on March 1, 2009.

The seller of $220 card is the same buyer of the $410 one.
Did he think he can make more trying to flip?

Great update. Will it sell a 3rd time? I don't know. Stay tuned.

BGS 10's are so rare , I dont know why but it seems like beckett keeps 10 for rare occasions...

PSA 10's are good cards....BGS 10's are like rare cards that were printed in the BGS slap...

I don't know PSA and BGS both leave some room for improvement..

If either of them took their industry as serious as some hardcore collectors do there would be one of the 2 emerging as the only game in town.

    JMHO -- both can't last .
    Buying:
Topps White Out (silver) letters Alex Gordon
80 Topps Greg Pryor “No Name"
    90 ProSet Dexter Manley error
90 Topps Jeff King Yellow back
    1958 Topps Pancho Herrera (no“a”)
81 Topps Art Howe (black smear above hat)
    91 D A. Hawkins BC-12 “Pitcher”

You are so right. There's no way that third party grading will last with 2 companies... Imagine if there were three!?!? Could you imagine if these companies started competing against each other 9-10 years ago? They'd never survive competing for the same customers. NEVER!
