Help please

I sent the buyer a third invoice yesterday for the 1968 Mantle PSA 8 that ended a few days ago.
He sent me this message a few minutes ago...
"We will not be paying for this item because your request to pay via "Money Order-via-Wire Transfer" is in violation of eBay's policies. We no longer believe in the validity of this auction.
It is also stated that "sellers must always accept payment from buyers through the payment methods they have selected in their Payment Details section of their listing, including PayPal, and must not act in any way to discourage buyers from paying by these methods."
This issue has been reported to eBay and they have stated that "based on our investigation, (we are) not obligated to complete the transaction."
In the auction payment is paypal only... (only option you can put to listing now that eBay no longer takes paper payment) .
Should I file a dispute?
Edit to add-
Item sold more than a few days ago.... almost two weeks.

P.S. Sorry this happened to you.
I would politely email the buyer back and apologize for the request for payment via "Money Order-via-Wire Transfer" saying it was a misunderstanding. Then, request payment again and provide your Paypal address. If the buyer still refuses to send payment, I would consider filing a dispute. However, bear in mind that ...
1. As a buyer, there is nothing you can do to force a seller to send a card; and
2. As a seller, there is nothing you can do to force a buyer to send payment.
Hope this helps.

<< <i>You lost me. Did you tell the guy to pay via money order or PayPal? I am confused.
P.S. Sorry this happened to you. >>
He sent me a question before the item ended asking if I take money order.
I responded "paypal only" .....

P.S. After leaving the negative, the buyer identified himself/herself as "miwebste."
There is NO money order option.
There are a couple of possibilities: (And, these are based
on the seller's assurance that he did NOT send the complained
of invoice.)
1. There was a glitch in EBAY's invoice. (Could be so.)
2. The buyer received an invoice from a SCAMSTER. (This is happening
MORE and MORE since EBAY made itself "safe" by "masking" IDs.)
If a scamster sent the complained of invoice, EBAY T&S needs to
get on the case. If it turns out to be so, the FB can be removed
AFTER MUCH hard communication with the right persons.
I strongly suspect a SCAMSTER sent the invoice.
The "do you take MO" and the I take paypal only?
Also you can reply to his negative. I'd say something like this buyer must be confused
I only accept paypal.
Sorry this happened to you.
Steve
I usually state something like i"ll accept whatever payment is easiest for you.
MO and checks are your friend.
I also state in my invoice that if the buyer prefers I accept MO and checks too.
Paypal is cheerfully accepted.....
Bla bla bla.

Sadly, any seller-initiated mention in pre/post sale of paper payments
is an EBAY TOS violation. If somebody complains about such violations,
the seller will be disadvantaged in search.
Right now I am so upset............ again I just can't believe it..........
Taking the family to the movies in an hour...... hopefully I can try to forget this and give eBay a call when I get back.
You guys probably should block this guy, it could prevent future problems.
"Just looked at buyers feedback and he has never bought any sports cards from what I see."

<< <i>I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree so I will ask, how does a Scamster know whom to send an invoice with ids hidden?

Your right he does.
I didn't check the back page of his feedback........just looked at what he recently bought.

The IDs are NOT really "hidden."
EBAY has become essentially a RICO-Enterprise. ALL of their
"safety measures" are bogus and designed SOLELY to prevent
HONEST members from communicating with each other.
Their platform is so glitch-ridden and vulnerable that EVEN
the first-day workers in the Nigerian coffee-shops can see
EVERY transactional ID.

The guy did nothing wrong.
His five-year record is PERFECT.
It's NOT a buyer's fault that EBAY cannot keep the site safe
from criminals that send FAKE invoices.
I gave eBay a phone call yesterday and spoke to a representative about what happened.
He checked my messages/ feedback/ listing and reassured me that I did nothing wrong on my end.
I filed a dispute and waiting for the buyer's response as well as a phone call from eBay Trust & Safety.
He told me it was probably a spoof email the buyer received after the auction ended.
One thing he mentioned was regardless about eBay's paypal only policy...... if a buyer requests to pay by money order he or she can do so.......the seller just can't advertise "I ACCEPT MONEY ORDER OR CASHIER'S CHECK" in the listing.
Feedback is hard to get removed but he said try contacting the buyer and also mention it to Trust & Safety.
So now I am waiting for response from eBay and the buyer.
Hope this works out
I'll keep you guys updated.
"We received multiple messages stating that we were not to use PayPal to pay. One of those messages
was sent outside of the eBay system and masked to look like it was sent from eBay. The seller stated
that "We can't use paypal right now, because we change the credit card account number in my paypal
account & will be active in 10 days" and said we needed to pay via "Money Order-via-Wire Transfer"
instead. We reported this case to eBay and no longer believe the legitimacy of this auction."
I didn't send any such messages to the buyer after auction ended.
Only sent three invoices on three separate days, all say paypal only.
The buyer's message indicates to me that he or she did receive a "spoof" email.
Now I have to wait until eBay contacts me and hopefully contacts the buyer.
The hard part is gaining the buyer's trust, he or she thinks I sent those messages.
When I spoke to eBay yesterday about the neg feedback they said that it will take some time to remove it because its a long process.
They have to review the case and determine if feedback should be removed.
I wish the buyer allowed me to communicate with them on the issue instead of posting neg feedback ASAP to account.
Update when I have new info
