Jordan TTM auto from 1990. Any chance its real?

Hello. i started a thread last night about my HOF auto collection that i will update as i get more in but wanted to start a seperate post about this onefor those that didn't see it. Just looking for opinions as to wether or not this could actually be authentic. I will copy what i have in my original thread and look forward to hearing what you guys think.

I sent this to MJ right when the set came out, it was one of the last TTM requests i sent as a kid. I was probably about 12 and other things were becoming more important. Fast forward about a year and i get a SASE back postmarked from Chicago. No big deal, i'm thinking its BJ Armstrong or Dennis Hopson or some bench guy finally catching up on his mail as I had sent to pretty much the whole team. I opened it up and was shocked, but even in my by then 13 year old mind i think i figured it had to be a fake, didn't it? Anyway, there is no chance this is real, right? Or did Jordan actually sign TTM once in awhile back in the day?

  • Helpful to post it in a way that you can actually see the auto

Lucas, I'm not sure that every autograph has to be identical for it to be authentic, but that one looks different than a couple I have.

I can see the card, but it looks very dark on my monitor.

Yes, but your's are more recent examples. We need to see something from around that era that he signed.

    That looks good to me.

I wrote him about the same time and received a pre-signed sheet of white paper. It's not a PP and was done in Sharpie. Surprised to see he actually signed your card because those pre-signeds seemed to be standard for that time period.

Great site BunchofBull. I've always just kind of assumed the worst about it but it looks like it might really be the real thing. Awesome. ANy one else have any thoughts?

I would PSA DNA it. It would make you feel better I imagine if they OK'd it (you did come here asking for opinions) and it would sell MUCH better slabbed if authenticated. I know I would not touch one that was not a signed insert, JSA, UDA or PSA DNA, as he was likely the most forged person the last 20 years.

    Looks good.

meteoriteguy - i'm not trying to sell it, one way or the other, but i eventually will send it to PSA for my PC. If i remember correctly i think i saw that they charge $100 to authenticate Jordan, so it really isn't a high priority right now. Its just good to get some opinions besides the ones that i've gotten for the last 19 years which consist of my brother and my own.

It's a great site...glad it was of some use.

Email the guy who runs it...he's a wiz with MJ autos...his word's as good, if not better, than any TPG.

If you join PSA, it will only cost you $20.00 plus shipping, etc. to get autographed cards valued under $500.00 authenticated and slabbed, not $100.00. That's the reason I joined and it's more than paid for itself.

Last i heard you do not have to be a member of PSA to submit to PSA/DNA...................unless things have changed within the last year or so.

You do not have to be a member to submit items to PSA/DNA . If this Jordan card is submitted to PSA/DNA, it will cost $100.00 authentication fee, and will be slabbed with a blue flip.

However, I'm not talking about submitting it to PSA/DNA, I'm talking about submitting it to PSA under their autograph card grading and authentication. If done that way, this exact same Jordan will only cost $20.00 authentication fee, and will be slabbed with a red flip as well as PSA/DNA authenticated to boot.
