I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. If you MUST have it, try the PSA Quick Opinion first...but I imagine it will come back "Likely Not Genuine"
  • Were can i find the PSA quick opinion to purchase?
Do i just pay with paypal or do i have to wait for a check?
I have heard the sometime the quick opinion is not very accurate.
I heard a story were the same autograph got an unauthentic, authentic and another unauthentic with the quick opionion.
Then he sent it to PSA and it went through as authentic.
Does the service work and were can i buy it?
    Thanks

I would not touch that either.

It could very well be legit but why in the world would I want to buy
anything of that much value from a stranger? It is a problem I'd rather not get myself into.

I have no idea if 3.5k is a good deal or not.

In order to get a PSA/DNA quick opinion go here and follow the instructions. It cost $7.49 or so and is a pretty good tool. I use it a lot to prescreen my HOF signed rookies that I buy.

I've been wanting an authentic Dream Team signed ball for quite some time, but I'm not paying that kind of price for one.

Just in case anyone cares...I questioned the seller and this is what I said,

<< <i>Hi, I'm in the South Bay and would love to check out the ball in person. I've obtained many of those autos in person and would like to check them out before I purchase. Please let me know.
    >>

    This was his reply,

<< <i>Sure brian, Call me @ 310-xxx-xxxx (He gave me his full number) to set up a time Amir >>

I'm not saying it's legit, but the seller is at the very least willing to show the ball in person.

I've shown my balls in person more times than I would like to admit.

  • For a $3500 purchase, definitely research the field of dreams claim, for your own opinion on the autos, have PSA do a quick opinion and definitely pick it up in person. I'm not so enthusiastic about the hand written number/sticker thing on the ball though. As for the value of a team signed ball, I'd just add up the value it would take to get all the autos individually. Ask me in twenty years and I'm sure it'll be different.

There is a guy in San Dimas, CA that deals in high end signed basketballs. I would at least give them a call before purchasing. It's Hall of Fame Sports. They have relationships with a ton of Hall of Famers and if you are willing to pay, can possibly even arrange to have an item of yours signed (they would organize a larger signing and make more money that way). I heard once they put together a signing with Jordan, Robertson, Russell, Bird and Magic for a guy's signed basketball request. He set up separate signings with each and sold others for a profit.

PS - They don't pay me or anything, I've just found them to be very capable at getting stuff done.
