I guess some people have more money than other things! Did you see the bottom right corner? 10??? P L E A S E!!! Good luck to the buyer! Because he is going to need it with that card! And for CSA to be the oldest grading company then WHY haven't I ever heard of them??? I've only been in the Hobby all my life!
<< <i>Some poor sap has got to be regretting this one:
The sad thing is that the buyer may not regret it for many years, if ever.
He/she only has 37 feedbacks, so perhaps the buyer is new to the hobby (or not even interested in the hobby), but remembers watching Brett play in the 70's and 80's. He sees that its his rookie card in a Gem Mint 10 grade, and figures he just got a steal at roughly 60% of the buy it now. Locks it away in a safety deposit, never to be seen from again.
It could happen that way, and shady sellers (and some good sellers too) pray for that scenario every night as they kneel by their beds.
Also hard to believe this seller would turn down almost any offer for the card. Unless of course the seller has alt-ID's making offers on his own items to get the "herd mentality" going to lure in a potential sucker.
Hard to say who would feel worse if they read this thread-- the guy who kicked out 2K for this card, or the guy who sold it a few days earlier for $157.

EZ one for me.
Better to be holding the share that just went for $2K than to have just sold that share for $157.
The $2K bagholder is still in the hunt. The first guy was already croaked.
........
Of course, nobody here, as far as I can tell, knows for sure if the $2K sale was for "real."

I hadn't approached it from that perspective, but I think you might be right. Although I think this line of reasoning might assume that 2K was the market price, which I'm not sure is true (in this case, given the sheet weirdness of the transaction).
Edit to add: I hadn't before recognized the utter appropriateness of the seller's Ebay handle. A miracle indeed. I imagine the coke and hookers are in no short supply at chez' mnmiracle's this evening.
I do not believe you understood the remark above - the other Brett (now listed by teawolves is the one who purchased the $157 Brett RC, not mnmiracle who actually sold his Brett RC for a way overpriced amount!)

I just tried to contact the buyer, but our internet settings at work won't allow me to see the "authentication image" to send the email. Poor guy, someone really should notify him.

I'm am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad this wasn't me. I've bought plenty of krapp off the bay that after receiving shook my head and wondered WTF.
"adidasglacier won this item with a Best Offer of US $2,222.22. "
What's the chances the person paid for the card already?

Too bad the cert on that card is from the more recent time where they have
graded trimmed crap.
At one time you could cross CSA to PSA.
The old CSA red certs are decent.

Steve:
Please refer to the 100-0 thread. No need to notify as most feel it's time to thin out the herd. Let the lambs go to slaughter. . .
execute the transaction.
This buyer is in for a surprise and I am sure he/she will find out soon enough.
Not good for this hobby.
