Just got a couple of coins from David Lawrence Auctions. On the reverse of the slab is a round colored sticker (sorry no picture). Anyone know what this sticker means? Is it an internal code i.e. blue means a certain price level, red means another? Not that important but Im just curious.

I have noticed the same thing, I have no clue what it means, but I always thought it had to do with the "Quality" rating that they give each one of their coins, different color...different rating (their scale is one to five stars I believe.)

Looks like a bit of a scratch on the reverse. Otherwise a stunningly nice coin!

I have no idea what the blue dot might mean - probably some sort of internal inventory tag at DLRC.

Nice looking coin

I bid on a coin at DLRC this week and it said reserve not met.
The next day I got a email that said good news we have lowered the reserve on the coin you bid on.
So I looked and it showed reserve met.

I am glad I didnt spend the money some where else before I got the new reserve message.
I have never heard of a reserve changing after a auction lot has a bid.

That happened to me also. I bid on a 1831 (Small Letters) PCGS AU50 and the reserve was not met. The next day I got an email saying the same thing you stated. I baught the coin and had it regraded. Came out a AU55. Check it out:

Best of luck! An AU55-58 bust quarter is definitely on the agenda for my type set one of these days. My first priority is knocking out the gold first though it case in skyrockets. Made a big jump today.

DLRC had a peculiar, but actually interesting, designation they did on all of their invertoried coins in the past. This predated their venture into periodic auctions. They used codes to relate their in-hand assessment of the toning, for instance. That was a big thing 15 years or so ago when people were demanding blast white classic silver.....and alas, buckets of weak acid and neutralizing baking soda later, we have all that overdipped garbage that doctors are AT'ing now. Not blaming DLRC, just their designations went with the times. I do see the colored dots and code on them still. Blue seems to be the most common. Have also seen at least green, but I don't pay a lot of attention to them. "1X" is the most common code I have run across. I am certain it is correlated with their old system. The lots' details probably have that info in them too.
