Pack Rip - 2008 Sweet Spot

I was bored so I decided to buy a $25 pack rather thana blaster at Traget. All I really want is a good auto or patch card anyway. These packs have 1 auto or patch per pack and are about the same price as a blaster.

I'm in MN so a Mauer Jersey is a welcome treat.

  • I fell for that same trick at Walmart last month too. I guess they only had Minnesota Twins jerseys because I got a Johan Santana jeresey card with the same pinstripe.

Maybe I misunderstood, but did you pick up a pack of Sweet Spot at Target?

I've opened 3...a Thome jersey, a dual Griffey Jr/Sizemore jersey, and a prospect auto of some nobody.

I bought the pack at Shinders in Maplewood, MN.

I throw out 99% of the cards that come with the blasters and I don't get a jersey/auto in every box so this was a slam dunk on a jersey/auto card. I love the autos on the baseball sweet spot cut cards. I might buy a few more.

John Smoltz /59 auto SS leather...that one will nearly pay for most of these 3 packs image

Did these packs come in a tin?? Curious since I saw 2008 Sweet Spot tins at our local Target and was wondering if it would be worthwhile to pick a few up.

    Al,

The tins at Target are kind of like a blaster. There are three smaller foil packs in the tin, and, on average, each tin contains one game used or auto. I've not seen anything remarkable come from them though. Each of the hobby packs I've purchased was in a little cardboard box...with 1 pack containing one game used or auto.

It's odd...only random packs come with a tin...I think they did that to fool people on the weight of the packs.

thanks for the info, guess I'll steer clear of the tins and just pick up some more A$G when it comes out
