Anyone ever dealt with rarecards4me on Ebay? Add them to your BBL

I sold him a $25 card on the 11th of Jan. He paid right away. I then mailed the card safely from Canada on the 13th. I emailed him that same day letting him know that the card was in the mail coming first class from Canada and that as a result it may take a little longer.

He then today (7 business days later) opens a Paypal claim and then escalates it instantly with out any communication via Paypal or Ebay.

I'm a little ticked to say the least.

To add to this story. I just saw that he just tried to bid on one of my present auctions but quickly canceled his bid.

So, just to be safe I have added him to my block bidder list

    Mathew,

Emails sometimes get blocked by spam filters... sending messages via eBay work better (go to ebay account and emails).

Maybe, he'll cancel the complaint after he receives the card? ...if not, you can always return the favor and buys something from him?

    Hey Mike,

I actually always send my messages using Ebay and did so with my message to him letting them know the card shipped.

And alas I can not bid on his items as he has a no Canada or other country bidding block on.

"Maybe, he'll cancel the complaint after he receives the card?.."

Or, maybe he filed the claim after he already had the card in his hand.

EBAY and PayPal are BAD for international trade.

"EBAY and PayPal are BAD for international trade." ...storm888 is the eBay expert for sure.

So, the buyer purchases cards from Canada, but doesn't sell to Canadian's... that's odd, or as storm888 mentioned... "maybe he filed the claim after he already had the card in his hand."

I really hope that is not the case (but fear that you may be right). It is only $25 but it is still my $25 and I would like it back.

Ebay is becoming more like Yahoo auctions every day.

Sorry this is happening to you Matt.

I am hesitant to sell to people outside of the U.S. because of the potential problems with Paypal. I virtually stopped selling high end ($100+) hockey cards because most of the buyers are from the Great White North.

The ironic part is that I have neve had a problem with any international customers. It's just the seller unfriendly changes at Paypal and Ebay have scared me.

    THAT is exactly right.

It is ONLY reasonable to look at the circumstance - PayPal's ridiculous
policies - and realize that eventually you WILL get nailed. Thus, MANY
    folks simply avoid the "circumstance."

    .......

Tonight, GOOGle Pay-Per-Click revenues were announced to be up 18%+
compared to the same quarter last year. This in a MAJOR recession.

TONS of former EBAY-sellers funded that increase. They found that they
do not need EBAY, if they have google.

And, once sellers get AWAY from EBAY they no longer have to worry about
being scammed by PayPal's nonsense. PP is a joy for sellers to use AWAY
    from EBAY.

It is too bad. As a seller for years on Ebay I have been luck and only burned a few times but Paypal does make it impossible for me. If I sell a single raw card I would have to charge $12.00 to have it shipped with tracking and insurance to anywhere in the US from Canada. This is the cheapest way I can ship (called Canada Post Expedited) that allows me to track and in turn make it safe from Paypal scammers.

Now, when I tell a buyer that they have to pay that for insurance and tracking they either refuse or call me a thief. So, I only require it on purchases over $50.00 (and even then always hear about it from buyers) and on small orders like the one in the original post I cross my fingers stick the card in a bubble envelope and mail it with 2.00 worth of stamps on it.

Just read over his auctions and he states in them that he will take offers. As far as I know this is against Ebay policy so...I will be reporting them all and if you guys want to join in the more the merrier.

Never mind...he just ended all his high dollar items and the 3 new auctions say nothing about offers.
