Today's players have too many cards, what is Lebron James' rookie?

I would like to pick up a Lebron James signed rookie for my collection. My preference is always just straight basic Topps (althought I don't know if Topps was making basketball cards in his rookie year) if it's his earliest card or tied for his earliest. If there is a card earlier than a Topps brand, that is considered his rookie, what is it? IE, year, brand, and card # and typical price signed?

Is there a signed rookie of his that's manufacturer issued that sells for less than $400.00 or so and is a Topps, or Finest, or Bowman card??

I could be wrong but I think his rookie cost a lot more than 4 bills, which is pretty insane considering you can snag a nice Rose PSA/DNA for 5 and a half bills.

No clue what the exact name is but his best RC is something from UD. I think it's numbered under 100 and has a patch on it. The good news is that it's already signed. The bad news is that it costs a small fortune.

James has had a deal with Upper Deck since he was drafted, and only signs for them. I don' think I've ever seen a legit ip signed Topps card of his. He has lots of different options when it comes to 2003-04 Upper Deck Certified autographed cards.

I am sure his best rookie is the 2003 Exquisite patch auto, followed by the 2003 Ultimate Collection auto rc and then by 2003 Spx auto rc. I think. But yea all his rookie autos are basically over $500. With Exquisite auto patch going for over $4000 at some point.

Those on these boards looking for deals on Lebron, Tiger and Crosby signed rookies will have to wait in line with everyone else. Unless you are checking ebay
every day during the off season, you are not going to find a deal on these cards. You will also have to go with Upper Deck if you want any of these guys, they
own the rights while topps owns the rights to...urrrrr...ummm....no one!

Thanks for the link to that auction. I bought that card tonight. I got it at $361.00 which was under my original $400.00 budget for a Lebron.
