I hate EBAY's new page look

It runs deathly slow on my machine. I've opted out of the beta testing as long as I could...but tonight the button for me to opt out is gone, so I'm stuck with the default look and it sucks big time. Anybody know how to get an earlier version of EBAY's look to run on your computer. When I try to scroll down with my mouse wheel in the new look...it hesitates for several seconds for starting and then you never know how far you've scrolled. It just jumps several frames after hesitating when you try to scroll. This sucks bigtime!

Cut down the some of the information displayed in "page options"

Well I did that and it does help the scroll wheel speed somewhat...but it is still not spontaneous. Plus I had to knock my page options down to where I'm only monitoring 3 categories on my home page, where with the old format, I could monitor 6 or 7 with no impact on usability.

So this is great...I get half the information at half the speed. What a bunch of idiots. People screwing up things that aren't broken really tick me off!

For what its worth I fired off my nastygram to them telling them they suck. I'm sure that will do loads of good. I'd sure like to know what all the 'great ideas' they got from users about how to improve their home page view. What did they say???? Give us less information. Make us wait longer to get it. Yea...that helps a lot. Maybe they'll just ban me for complaining and put me out of my misery. What a bunch of jokers.

So, I think my eyes are going and the pics on the watching/searching pages just got smaller. Nope, they reduced the
size of the pics. One '84-cc I was watching had a pic, pre new page, that was 80x75 pixels. New pic is
    now 64x60 (same item).
I have enough of a hard time seeing my monitor let alone these horribly small pictures. This is not good and will
lead to more eye fatigue for me. Oh my.

logged in tonight and spent five minutes trying to make myebay usable. No luck. Maybe tomorrow I will try again. This move by ebay will certainly help me to buy less from ebay.

Just as slow and clumsy as ever on my PC - but I don't use ebay much.

I've been opting out for at least a year. Sometimes I can't find the opt out, but usually it is there.

Of course, since October the only thing I use ebay for is to track pricing - I haven't bought or sold since the paypal-only requirement was implemented. A few weeks ago, my credit card expired, and I have not re-registered to buy or sell.

No biggie. I don't miss it. Someday, they might make some positive moves, but in the meantime, I see no compelling reasons to sign up again.

Mine too -- at first -- but then I did some tweaks to the settings and it's much faster now. The key is to block out all unnecessary images, flash, etc. that are bogging down your CPU. If you're using FireFox with AdBlock Plus, you should add the following filter: http://include.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/flash/global/features/myebay_merch/dist/* -- That will block out all the graphic-intensive junk like "Recent Searches" and "How About These?" that you don't really need. Works wonders for me.

C'mon guys. Give it a rest. You think a multi-billion dollar company like eBay just makes random, stupid decisions? Ha, ha, ha. "Yes" is a funny answer.

Face it...most of the feedback about the new UI is positive. I spent 20+ years in Silicon Valley hi-tech dealing with beta feedback. Bottom line is your goal is to please most customers at the expense of some (while simplifying your life).

The problem with a lot of folks on this forum is you're just too damned smart. You're in the minority and your opinions just don't count. image

Kind of like the domestic automobile business. We used to make great cars and fantastic motors. Remember the slant 6? Why don't they just go back to basics and stick with what works rather than change for the sake of change and now rip us all off for handouts?

Maybe sleazebay is going for a handout? ( yeah yeah yeah I know the new-age term is bailout. It's HANDOUT. )

Mine too. I won't be listing any new items until this gets resolved. I'll just spend more time transferring all of my ebay inventory over to my own website.

F eBay. Apparently they don't need to satisfy anybody but themselves. Brilliant CEO.
