I've tried using a much larger version (available at work) on some mylar flips, and I couldn't get a consistently good seal. Yes, it did do the job, but it works much better on soft (PVC) flips, which I don't believe you want to use. Perhaps, if I had one at home like the small one you are asking about, I could play around with adjusting the time heat is applied (there is a dial), and maybe then I could find a "perfect" setting that would work every time. If someones says they have used it successfully, be sure to ask them what setting works best for the mylar flips.
Hi again - I see you are striking out on saflips above 2.5x2.5, as I did. Re. the sealer: no, I have not used one, but I've bought stuff sealed that way, a few times.
If anybody purchases a package of the 4x4 size, I would be interested in buying a handful of them from you. I have a couple of 60mm medals that I just can't figure out how to store. PM me if you have extras that you woudl be interesting in selling.
Cool, I think I will be ordering from them as soon as I get a firmer idea on how many I really need. I probably don't need a full 100 as I do have many in airtights already.

theboz11, Would you mind telling me the optimum setting for mylar flips? Occassionally, I have an opportunity to use one at work, but the setting there is for poly bags, so it would be of great help if I could just know the number setting, then set it back after I am finished.
I just ordered some 4x4 flips, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 flips (NON PVC of course) and a sealer. I also got a couple of the intercept proof set boxes to hold them, rather than a shoebox . That should hold everything nicely, and the couple of medals (well, plaques really) that don't fit in the flips, I got some currency holders to keep them seperated. Those (if they are what I think they are) won't be quite right--and not 'sealable', but to keep things from rubbing together should work. All archival stuff, for 2 years.
