About to bust a 1987 Fleer Rack Box....

I have an off-day from work today and plan to bust a 1987 Fleer Rack Box for fun. Besides Bonds, is there any other player worth submitting for a shot a PSA 10?

Mike

Will Clark was always my favorite card from this set. Talk about fond childhood memories of this card. Too bad the value plummeted.

When I first started collecting as a kid in 1989, these were THE cards to have:

Wow. I remember selling those raw at shows. I think I was getting around $17.00 for the Will Clark, no sure on the Bo Jackson, about $8.00 on Sierra. Also, some kid was offering me $5.00 for every Kevin Seitzer. Thise were the days.

The BGS 10 would be pretty hard to get....I don't think Fleer sold sheets in 1987.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I can remember when a guy who lived down the street from me-- an older guy, although I'm probably now about the same age as he was then-- traded a lot of 25 87F Clarks for 70 85D Eric Davis'. We all thought he made out like a bandit at the time, and while it later occured to us that he might end up getting the ass end of the deal we NEVER considered the possibility that 20 years down the road the trade would be seen as a total wash, with one (basically) valueless stack of cards being exchanged for another.

The late '80's were a great time to be in the hobby. Even now I still miss the excitement that came from being 15 and watching the values of my cards-- and I mean here the 'real' values, not the hyped-up Beckett prices-- rise and fall on a weekly basis. There as a feeling, as a kid, that you had entered the murky portals of adult commerce, and it was really an intoxicating feeling.
  • HAHA, you never know with the Bankruptcy fire sale they had. It's getting easier to pull BGS 10's overall in the last year though.Although a good percentage have been modern. Speaking of 1987 Fleer, it's too bad Will Clark didn't put up a few more good seasons. With the way the Steroid Era has gone, and the players accused, his stats would look that much better.
  • must have been a good rip, no scans, no nothing????
