Since we're resurrecting old 2009 threads this morning, I thought of Wayne/newbiecollector, and how I miss him. His gentle, self-effacing manner, and his humble appreciation for numismatics. He was modest almost to a fault, that guy, and is worthy of remembrance. I thought Gene/1960NYGiants, who just lost his father, might enjoy this little bit of cheer. It's not always a sad thing to think of those who have passed on. We can remember them for the good times. (Sounds smarmy, I know, but I do believe that.)

So here's to Wayne, and Gene's dad, and Brad (Tbirde56), and the other fine forum friends who have moved on.

Here are some love tokens with ships and lighthouses, in keeping with newbiecollector's nautical theme. Feel free to continue along the same lines if you like.

Wow Lord M, that 2nd-from-bottom is strikingly gorgeous almost holographic! Alright tough act to follow but I'll do my best. These mailed yesterday, freshly graded:

Gene is a stand up guy! Oldshep would definitely approve this post if he ever returns from the land of the Yetis.

I haven't logged in for awhile and did a big double take on seeing Newbie's name. I can't post a coin right now, but this link shows the ship I'm on right now. It's as close as I can get and somehow I think Wayne would think it's cool.

I am always at a loss about what to say when someone posts about a lost loved one. My condolences go out to Gene.

Here's a ship coin that just arrived. I didn't even notice it had a ship on it until I looked at it under a loupe. It's a teeny tiny ship on a teeny tiny coin.

Can you please check the waterlines on the Canadian Dollar?

Coinkat, my dollar is an Arnprior according to every dealer that's seen it and my own eyes through a glass. However, PCGS slabbed it "SWL" ... it's packaged with three other slabbing errors waiting to be returned for re-slabbing.
