1986 Meadow Gold Milk

Were these issued in just pint, quart, half gallon and also the same sizes but in chocolate milk variety? Any other variety 2% or 1% only every seem to see pint vitamin D ones.

Meadow Gold dairies printed pairs of MSA cards on the side panels of their products in 1986.

    Nice oddball regional set.

I've seen them on half gallon cartons of vitamin D white milk, half gallons cartons of ice cream and on certain packages of ice cream bars. I'm not sure about any other sizes or flavors though.

    Here's a few links as examples: LINK 1 LINK 2 LINK 3

I have Ripken on a pint sized chocolate milk (not for sale); let me know if you want a scan...

I notice that the Sandberg is different then the Rose. The Sandberg reminds me of the Post issue while the Rose
is more a drawing. Different sets?

I had this graded a while back, and I wasn't sure if the tab on the side of the card (which is really one of the tabs on the ice cream box) would be considered similar to a tab from the Hire's Root Beer or Red Man Tobacco cards, so I took a shot at it. I'm not sure if that's what caused it to garner a PSA 5. What do you all think about the effect this tab had on the grade of this issue? Do you think it helped or hurt the grade?

  • Guess I really want to know is the whole set on chocolate milk or were only some? Same with the other sizes? Any player collector have all the varieties that can share?

I've only ever graded one of these-- a Mattingly-- and I cut off the tab and it graded a 9. Not sure if the tab is the issue here, but it probably wouldn't hurt to cut if off and give it another shot.
