New group of autos...

I would love to do as much of this set that is possible. I picked up this group...anyone see any problems with any of these autos? Also, if anyone here has any, please let me know!

Mike, I did see the Mantle that Fig has. I havent popped for a Mantle yet cuz they are easy to find. Im just knocking down the easier ones for now.
This brings me to another question that maybe should be on another thread. There are some autos that JSA authenticates cheaper than PSA/DNA. Im pretty sure I would trust JSA but would like to hear others opinions on that also.
Mike
I also see the point of having him do it because it would be a good price and weed out what is good and what isnt.

Do you know if Priddy has any plans to get his stuff slabbed?
<< <i>I was thinking of having Priddy do them but then they will have the stickers and no slabs. Im not sure how I feel about the stickers on the card especially when he is just building his business. Will Priddy's new company be a flash in the pan or will it be here to stay? And will the industry see him as a legitimate third party authenticator. I know he has the knowledge and experience but the industry will dictate whether he sinks or swims.

Priddy? Why waste your money? I know of a fair share of stuff he has been passing/has passed that is no good. Lots more to say about this guy, but I guess I will refrain for now.
JSA or PSA/DNA would be the only way to go, if you want them authenticated.
EDIT: to add JMHO

Just exactly what ironmanfan and I said. Don't waste your money with Priddy.
IMHO
<< <i>first of all, Priddy's authentication adds no value in the current marketplace (as opposed to PSA/DNA & JSA); his hobby legacy will always be the number of bad autographs he passed while heading GAI's autograph authentication

He's been doing more of it with his new company, too. The most recent I seen was some secretarial ttm Hank Aaron sigs. They were clearly not legit, but Priddy gave them the thumbs up. The guy that received them ttm had them PSA/DNA quick opinioned, and PSA said they were bad.

I did see that also but what about the Cy Young that was spelled CY Yooung that PSA passed?Mistakes happen and I have seen more with the bigger guys lately than I have with him.Maybe it has to do with volume or maybe it has to do with the new inexpierenced guys.I can't make that call but there is alot of BS being passed off as real tha PSA and JSA has passed.Me or you could obviously tell they are fakes.
Edited for spelling
<< <i>obviously no one company is 100% accurate, but the hobby still recognizes PSA & JSA as the leaders and signatures with their authentication will sell for more (or be worth more). There is NOT one autograph in the market that will sell for a penny more with ACE authentication (might as well as be STAT or Morales).

Very true.

I agree with you 100%.But if these companies keep up the crap someone will come in and take over a the #1.I am in no way saying ACE will be the one to do it but someone will.I am bashing everyone fairly no one or the other.I have slabbed cards from all 3 companies in my collection. But only purchased them after doing my own research on the autos first.I suggest to anyone no matter what company you like to do the same.Just because someone put a sticker on it doesn't make it real.I am stepping away before this becomes a fire.

Do you realize just how many bad Mantle, Ted Williams, and Joe Dimaggio autographs came out of GAI while Justin Priddy was their lead authenticator? Not to mention all of the bad Cal Ripken Jr, David Wright, and Albert Pujols autos, just to name a few more that were authenticated while he was the lead authenticator at GAI. Yeah, he can try to throw GAI under the bus on some of this stuff, like I heard he tried to do after he left, but he was the one working as their authenticator when this bad stuff was authenticated as legit.
Rest assured, ACE(Justin Priddy) will never be a real threat to bounce Jimmy Spence or PSA/DNA as the 2 leading/credible authenticators in our hobby. There will always be the STAT, ACE, Morales, or Don Frangipani so-called authenticators looking to make a living off of this end of the hobby. Just because they have a business license, and a professional title, it does not necessarily mean much.

<< <i>Morales, Frangipani, and whoever other than Morales works for STAT all specialized in "authenticating" forged autos. A certification from any of them is a clear sign that something's wrong. I would not put Priddy in their category.

Well, I do know quite a few guys who went with GAI (when Priddy was there), after they had been rejected by both JSA and PSA/DNA. They eventually got quite a bit of the stuff that PSA/DNA and JSA rejected, authenticated by GAI(Priddy was working there at the time). That's pretty telling to me..

Nick:
I do somewhat agree with you, however my point was that Priddy's authenication/pedigree brings no more value to an item (legit or not) compared to an item with a STAT or Morales COA

Yes, those guys ^^ do appear to have some major issues like you state, and Priddy is not as bad. True enough.
And to be fair, Priddy has correctly authenticated some autographs, but I have seen more than a fair shair of stuff that he got wrong, too. The last I personally seen being the Hank Aaron ttm secretarial autos that anyone should have been able to spot as forgeries, if they claimto be a professional that authenticates signatures for a living.
