You are completely in the wrong. Why would you expect someone to sell a card for what they listed it for?

Chris, sorry to hear that. Man I feel like an idoit but what is BST?

No problem. The BST is the Buy/Sell/Trade area of the forum.

Yeah Chris, you've certainly done nothing wrong here. I hope it's an oversight on the seller's behalf, but either way, pretty bad customer service on multiple levels.

  • I still have hopes that the seller will come through for you. When I first read the post, I skimmed past the BST part and assumed it was another crappy ebay seller. It's sad to see this kind of stuff on the boards. You'd like to think thaat the users of this forum have higher standards than some of the ilk on ebay. That said, I still think that you will either get your refund or that the seller will honor the $50 asking price

Thanks guys. I will give him a day to rectify this and then I am outing him. He has been here for quite awhile and I am really surprised that he is being this way.

I just wish it hadn't come to this in order to get either one. A simple PM would have eased my mind a little. But no communication at all is crap.

A little patience will not hurt. Emphasis on "little."

PayPal's off-EBAY version of "Buyer Protection" is known as "The Buyer Complaint Policy."

The BCP protects PP users against INRs, but not against SNADs.

If your item does not arrive pretty soon, file under the BCP and PP will get you a refund.

    ........

    Also, always use a credit-card - or a MC-logo debit-card - on PayPal. Just in case.

    ................

The BST usually works pretty good, but not always.

Folks who post on the other forums a lot are usually - not always - the safest ones to do BST deals with.

    Chris,

Sounds like a case of seller's remorse to me!

The card should have been sold to you for $50 without question and without a subsequent offer of $70.

Before posting or listing an item for sale, the seller is responsible for proofreading and making any corrections.

It's a matter of principle and the seller should make it right for you.

    Hope everything works out okay.

Very short list of cards on the BST fitting that dollar amount in the time frame stated.

I love the fact that he posts a card for $50...You say you want the card....he tells you HE made a mistake and will only charge YOU $20 more image

It amazes me for how little money some people will try to get regardless if they are ruining their name and showing everyone their lack of integrity.

    You did absolutely nothing wrong.

Sorry you ended up in that situation.

Based upon what you stated, you are 100% correct! As someone else already mentioned, the seller actually asked for $20 more? Come on, don't you think it would be GREAT for your reputation if you told the buyer you made a mistake, but since it was my mistake I will give it to you for the listed price of $50.00?

Now if it was supposed to be $500.00 and he listed it as $50.00, that would be a pretty obvious mistake and I could understand him not wanting to sell. But for $20.00? Just not right.

I absolutely agree. If it had stated $50 but should have been $500 I wouldn't have let him sell it to me for $50. That's a big error but for $20 more I think it is rediculous.

Chris I thought the pleasure of conversing with me via PM was worth the $50. Now you want me to actually mail you a card, give you a refund, or respond in any way?? Man, buyers these days...

I am the seller, well for my dad and that is where the disconnect is. I listed it lower than he wanted and he objected to the sale. I thought he had communicated with the seller via my PMs and I did not check. He did email him I believe but don't know what was said. Once I saw this thread I realized he didn't. I tried to convince my dad to go through with the sale the first time but it's his item I can't make him do anything. He has though realized that he needs to go through with the deal, not happy about it but he is doing it.

I think starting a bashing thread within 1 day of the transaction of $50 is extreme. I agree a deal is a deal but my dad was still trying to figure out what to do at this point. To a guy living on a fixed income I guess $20 bucks means more.

Ship the card to cwazzy and I'll pay the extra $20.00 via PayPal. Just remember, when I retire, I get a break from someone in here...

Jason, drop me your PayPal addy and I'll send the money. Just confirm that you're following through with the deal with cwazzy...

The situation is taken care of guys. I do appologize if I blew the situation out of proportion. I really think there was just a lack of communication here. I'm sure there was no intent. Like I told Morgoth via PM a few minutes ago, I'm not a rich guy. $50 for me is a good chunk of change and all I wanted was just a PM letting me know where we stood as far as the card went. I'm sure he/they think much less of me right now but I did what I felt I had to do. I'm not trying to drag anyone's name through the mud here.

OTW thanks for the gesture but we are ok. I have already issued Chris a refund. Again, if I would have paid attention to the PMs nothing like this would have happened. I was just shocked to see it blow up so quickly especially thinking it was being handled by my dad.

Sometimes no good deeds go unpunished as I spent alot of time scanning, pricing cards and handling the paypal payment side. I will say everyone who has bought from my dad has been very happy with their results.
