$30 pickup

Yes, this thread is useless without pictures I know, but...
Had a guy come into the shop to pawn off some cards and some unopened material.
The cards were not great, but there was an unopened '79 Topps Baseball and a GAI 8.5 '80 Topps Baseball in the mix. He wanted $40 and I offered $30. He took it.
It looks like the going rate for unopened '79 is $8-$10 raw. Did I do alright spending $20 on the '80?
