Sorry, but that cracked me up....
Wait till google gets involved ?
<< <i>I'll wait until Auctiva storefront.
Wait till google gets involved ? >>
Google is involved...they're working in conjunction with ecrater via adwords and Google Checkout.
<< <i>"so I'll hopefully have a large dump by late tonight. "
Sorry, but that cracked me up....
you have a nice large dump late tonight ross >>
Geez, that totally escaped me. I'll let you all know if it comes out alright.

Collecting: Topps 1952-79, Bowman 1952-55, OPC 1965-71, and Pre-War White Sox cards
package on ecrater.com. The only expense is adwords and GCO/PP.
Most of the advantages of a stand-alone site, with less exspense.
//////////////////////////
In a few hours auctivacommerce.com is expected to announce its
price list.
There will be two-months FREE, to get folks started. With its built-in
customer base, it could become a contender. AND, the owners are
pist at EBAY; that can sometimes be a good motivator.
//////////////
ebid.net is also viable; there are some little fees.
/////////
godaddy.com is a well-reviewed host. They have lots of packages
that can get you started with a stand-alone site. The learning curve
is steep, but doable.
///////
sportswanted is still up, but I could not get the site to move very fast.
If they master google, they will get some buyers.
It was custom built to my specifications by fast pivot: http://fastpivot.com/
I am very happy with yahoo stores, and the work the fast pivot did. Yahoo fees are cheap enough that I don't even factor them into the price of the parts I sell. My biggest expense by far is google adwords, and you will have that expense regardless of what you do.

Very nice!
it's good to stay regular; clean out those pipes.
I started mine and am uploading stuff as I get the chance, once I get everything up there, I will try and figure out how adwords works. Right now, its hard to get an "in English" answer without digging through pages of "insider BS jargon"
<< <i>I looked at eCrater as a customer and I was really annoyed. I could only see the middle third of any photo until I actually clicked on the item. It didn't seem user friendly at all. >>
/////////////////////////////
Other folks have found that disturbing, too.
ecrater claims that their "testing" showed shoppers were more likely to click on the
item, if the picture was not fully revealed in the gallery view.
The pictures - once inside of the listing - are HUGE and high quality. 10-supersize
pics for FREE. No outside pic-host required.
Most shoppers come directly from google - or the other directories/engines - TO THE ITEM,
and not from the ecrater homepage or from the storefront.
........
At this moment - and this can change any moment - ecrater is coming on strong.
BUT, it requires a great deal of work with adwords and marketing to get the job
done. While you wait, the listings are FREE. GCO is about half the price of PayPal,
and any other payment you wish to accept is fine. (It's like your own stand-alone
site, with only marketing and payment-clearing costs to be paid for. No hosting fees,
no store fees, etc.)
.........
IF auctivacommerce.com is able to offer a defined marketing strategy for their fees,
they are certainly worth looking at. Fees to be announced "any minute."
