How do you card cases with graded cards? Help

HI,

I have a 1952 Topps Luke Easter that was graded 7.5 by beckett.
This is the wost undergraded card i have ever seen in my life.
I believe it should have easily gotten a 9 if not 9.5
But my real question was how would you guys recommend
that i get it regraded by PSA? Should i crack it open or
send it in as a crossover? How do you SAFELY card open
the case? Thanks

I would more suggest posting a couple nice large scans and we can tell you what we think. I will go out on the limb and suggest you may not have much grading experience and you MAY be over grading the card...more meaning, I would not expect a 2 pt. jump....but you never know.

I think you should post a very good scan of both sides of the card because there are some very sharp collectors here who can tell you what to do. Some cards will crossover and some might be a higher grade in a PSA holder, but no one can tell you what to do without a scan.

  • Welcome to the boards...

I don't think there is any chance PSA would cross over any card that was graded a 7.5 by Beckett into a PSA 9. If the card is as good as you say it is in my opinion I think you would have to crack it out to get the grade your looking for.

Do you happen to have a scan of the card in question???

  • OK, how do you safely (with-out injuring the card) crack it out?

    Best thread title ever.

Crush a corner of the holder up by the label. Using pliers etc.

Pry it open. Using eye protection, so you dont take the chance of grading all your future cards by feel.

You Never know I guess... I know of a T-206 Ray Demmitt BVG 4 that was recently sold for around 4000.00 which was cracked and got a PSA 6 and is now for sale for 25,000.00 so it's definatley possible.. Some scans of the card in question would help..
