It was fairly common back then for teams that played on frozen fields to wear tennis shoes rather than long metal spikes of the day. Traction was better. Check out the "Sneakers" game which started it all.

I didn't know your son played on Valley Forge's freshmen team? I was Parma's Head freshmen coach. Hate to say it..but we kick your butt!

Valley Forge didn't have a quarterback this season.....we can talk about it when my kids freshman basketball team kicks Parma freshman's teams behind in January The VF team has two losses but were in both games till the end.....against Holy Name and Strongsville...and you know how good those teams usually are.....

I won't do any "trash talking" about our basketball team....I have seen our freshemen hoops team play once and they lost to Medina...so not sure how they are.

It's great to see your son is a multi-sport athlete. I wish more kids would quite the "specialization" nonsense and play 2-3 sport and help out their school.
