Looks great. No pd's either like most of them have.

There appears to be a tilt but not too bad.

Should make it into a 9 slab imo

I've seen much uglier 9s. Great shot at a crossover.

  • No Crossover, Crack and Sub, you have an outside chance at a 10, no way it's an 8.....I think!!!!

I think it should be able to cross to 9.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I don't want to crack it out.. I am scared to get the dreaded evidence of trimming..

and there is some faint chipping on the edges..
youcan see under magnification.. I can't imagine this issue not having it
just through the regular cutting process.. and the dark colored borders

She's a beaut! Looks like a 9 for sure. I'd be scared to crack and sub also though.

    I feel like.. cross to a 9...
then resub the 9 for review and see if it bumps to a 10?
  • I think it crosses, Thats a great Young.

I've heard from experienced board members that crackouts are the way to go. I guess the feeling is that PSA is afraid to crackout on a review in case it doesn't meet min grade. I recently sent in some SGC 88 crackouts for my 56 set. But I'm having 2nd thoughts now after hearing people say that PSA is in a cautious/tough grading phase. Lots of evidence of trims. What do you think about sending in for review and putting in a lowball min grade? Like if you had a SGC 88 and put down a 6 for min grade. That way PSA wouldn't be afraid to crack the card out to grade it. Do you think you would get an unbiased grade then? Maybe not a prudent strategy for your 96 Young, but just throwing the idea out there.

  • I prefer it in the SGC holder.

What is your reason for wanting to cross it?
