Bumpable? 1962 Topps Aaron

Grades on 62's have been a grade or so lower than the same cards would have graded a year ago, so am not sure I'd crack.... Back is clean & centered.

First off, That is a great looking card. The only thing I can say is that the bottom edge looks slightly worn enough that it might not bump you into the 8 maybe a 7.5 . The two top corners look slightly touched too. That might just be the scan.. But is it worth having it come back as a 6. I have seen that happen to many times. It is a gamble in my opinion. I'm not sure It is worth the risk. Anyway, it is a beautiful card either way.

Hmmm... nice looking card, but I think it probably belongs in that holder. Could be worth a shot at a 7.5, but I'm guessing you'd end up right where you started.
  • I thought you were done with the 62's until PSA became more consistent with the grading on them? In my eyes, that card is a nice 8. That will be $14 plus shipping for my grading services.
  • that is definitely undergraded.

Absolutely. But not right now with what seems to be a crackdown going on out there. Sharp card, Mike.

If you need it for a registry set, don't crack it. I don't think PSA would bump it up based on how they're grading right now.

If you're going to sell it, you could try SGC or BVG. I think you'd have a very good shot at minimum .5 bump, and Aaron cards will sell in any of the three holders.

That card may have been graded a while ago (probably has the CU hologram on the back of the flip), so you have to decide if you think that the graders were tougher or easier back then.

Do I love the top/bottom centering? No.
Could it grade 7.5 or 8 on any given day? Yes.

    Mike,

I've already sent this one in for review and PSA said no. I have no idea what a "7" needs to bump up to 7.5, I think it needs to be an "8"!

    Thanks for the input guys.

Paleo - that is a gorgeous Aaron too. Am sure you know how hard it is to find this card in 60/40 or better.

  • Mike, great looking Aaron. It may be worth a shot, but as mentioned, maybe wait a while. The corners look 7.5ish to me (8 with the right grader). The scan shows just a little print (snow? or scuffing?) on Hank's face and neck and PSA seems really picky about print/surface issues lately.

Not sure about the 8...I don't think so...but a 7.5 could be a distinct possibility. It's not gonna go down to a 6 or 6.5 so a resubmit would be a good idea when you go to sell.
  • Being a Braves collector , I would love to get me a nice 7 of that card . I say you may get a 7.5 but
they are terrible on 62's so it would probaby come back a 7 again
