An Old Ticket Stub

I just got some old boxes of stuff returned to me from my parents attic. Here is a ticket stub for the first Talladega Race. Story on this ticket. The drivers boycotted the race because Goodyear didn't have a tire that was safe, they kept falling apart at the speeds the cars were able to reach at the new track. Only 3 NASCAR regular drivers ran the race and Bill France had Pony Division ( Mustangs, Camaros, Cougars, Etc.) and late model sportsman drivers from around Alabama running to make a field. Anyway he said after the race that anyone could trade their stub in for any future race at Talladega or Daytona for a ticket of equal value. I never traded mine in, would rather have the souvenir. I also found check stubs from that period of time and was making $71 a week bring home. I was just out of high school. So $20 was a third of a weeks pay back then. No need to trade the ticket in now, I doubt $20 would get you in the infield.
