Any Magic Johnson fans in Long Beach, California interested in making a few bucks??

If anyone is going to the Magic Johnson book signing on December 14 in Long Beach California, and can get my rookie card signed and returned to me, I will give you $75.00 or an Earl Campbell autographed 16 x 20, your choice. On his book tour, he has been accomodating other items as long as you buy a book to be signed as well. I could overnight or two day ship my card to you to take to the signing. If any of the regulars could help, I'd appreciate it, I need it for my signed rookie collection.

    Mike,
    I just called over there and apparently he hasn't confirmed yet and they aren't very optimistic about him making it in. I was told to try back by Wednesday to confirm. I'm not gonna be going, but I just wanted to give you heads up.

    A bump for Mike. Any luck Mike? I wish I could do it for ya, but I have something going on that day.
    Just a thought, do you think any of our local card shops are going in hopes of getting an auto on something?? Maybe they would do it for you for that fee?

    Mike,

    I stopped at Barnes & Noble today. They do have the sign up advertising the signing but with no time. I asked the cashier and he said that they had not got a confirmation for the time yet and until they do they can't confirm if he'll even be there. This just confirms what Arsenal heard yesterday. They told me to call back later in the week. If he confirms and it is Sunday morning I could do it but not if it is in the afternoon.

    Yep, that's the goal. Would also like to get Dr. J on there, but that might be too many sigs.

    I don't know man...hev you had the other non-HOF rookies (Dr J is a HOF but not a rookie on that card) sign the card (i.e. Jerry Koosman)? I would think you would want to stick to the same standard, no?

    I'd loosen my standard for Dr. J. image If I could get that card signed by those 3, it would instantly be one of my favorite 5 or so.

    I use signingshotline.com . It's a subscription site, but WELL worth the nominal charge for the information and discounts and features you receive in return.

    I've looked around that site but to use the site without registering it only shows the paid signings it looks like. Are there a lot of appearances like this Magic Johnson free signing that are listed on there?

    Magic is not free as you have to buy his book. But yes signings hotline shows signiing for free or pay. Its a bargain considering the info you get.

    there was a nice article in USA Today about Magic in Mondays paper. It mentioned the book tour etc.
