How long does it take to ship an item?

Won item 11/23 and paid that day.
Item still not here yet.
Contacted buyer asking when was shipped & when i should expect.
Buyer no respond.
That's bogus customer service.
Strap my -ish on a homing page & sent it eastward man!

PayPal is really good about helping "buyers" to steal from EBAY sellers.
<< <i>PayPal is really good about helping "buyers" to steal from EBAY sellers. >>
cleared payment, have no future on EBAY.
If first class mail is used then it should be shipped 1 to 3 days from POS.
How long it takes from then is up to the shipping company.
Emails should all be answered promptly.
I have an order that I shipped almost 3 weeks ago that still has not reached the buyer, luckily
I had DC on it and it shows it is around 45 minutes from him. I have answered everyone of
his emails.

<< <i>ANY sellers that cannot get their items in the mail in one/two days after

And this is a bad thing???
A seller should have an item shipped by the following weekend after a payment is made, at the VERY latest.
edited to add that buyers should always refer to the postage date on the item, as opposed to the date when the item arrives.

No. It's a good thing. It's the way it should be. If a seller cannot ship the item promptly,
he should not list it.
Sadly, for prompt-shipping sellers, most buyers don't look at the postmark.
They use their "date of payment" to judge "fast/slow" shipping.
Sellers with at least ONE Priority Mail item can arrange home/office pickup, if
they use online postage. (I have even had the carrier take items with green-ticket
DC and stamps, scan the DC at the PO, and return the tickets the next day. Many
carriers will be accommodating to special requests; some don't want to.)

I am shutting everything down in a day or two. I would have done it Friday, but
I am hopelessly greeeeeeeeeedy. It is not worth ruining FB and stars during the
last days of the Xmas mailing logjam.
Hello, If this inquiry Under 10 >>working<< days since payment sent.. Items are usually on the way to buyers during this period. Note: We do not work weekends or holidays<<<<<<<< Mail takes 4 to 7 days to get item to you. (we are in Calfornia) Paypal 2 to 5 days to clear they then leave immediately after clearance … Please supply information needed to follow up on your inquiry if you feel needed at this time. Over 7 > working< days from date of payment being sent please email us and always include information ask below on all emails .. Your name, address and zip.. Name of item, & ebay # How much payment did you send/? About When was payment sent? How paid, Check, MO, Paypal, etc.. Thank you very much for bidding and thanks for your trust , J
I suppose so, but paypal doesn't take 2-5 days to clear does it? The friggin item was under $100!!!!
I don't like the fact that I asked them: "When should I expect the item & when was it shipped" and they gave me some canned=ass response. Sounds like they are saying piss off, don't buy from me, but that could just be me.

Other PP payments are "instant."

Based on what I think I know, buyers will not have to worry
about slow-shippers in 2009. The slow ones will all be gone.
i thought hat was pretty good, it was like bent armpit, wyoming or something where nobody is

That is a fairly stated and fine policy for sellers to adopt, and for buyers to accept/reject.
BUT, on EBAY, it simply will not fly.
Buyers will read/agree to the terms, then complain after the fact.
Many very successful sites ship once a week or less. When FB
and stars are involved, it just does not work.
I sent him an eBay message yesterday asking if he had any tracking information--he replied back "I confirm I shipped it. Thanks".
What a relief! Whew! Surely it will arrive any day now.
I have often received stuff from Canada in 5-days.
Same scenarios with Europe deliveries.
You just never know how long stuff is going to take; too many variables
that the seller has no control over.
Still, it would have been nice if he told me when he shipped it. Sometimes sellers ship the next day--others only ship once a week--so either my item was shipped 20 days ago, or possibly only 14-15 days ago.
<< <i>Interesting. I'm in the same boat. Won two items and paid 11/23. Received a thank you email and a note about being sick and sending after Thanksgiving, but now no response to email requests.

I purchased an item recently from a power seller out of Florida but package came from Hong Kong.
he does a paypal withdrawl.
Thus the added days.

This is the proper way to handle these situations. I don't have any problem if a seller is ill or gets delayed, but be upfront about it and make some effort to placate the buyer without asking the buyer what they want to make things right.
That being said, too many sellers (and buyers late on paying) use illness, family emergency, or some other tired excuse to explain away the fact that they failed to deliver in a timely fashion. The worst thing is that all of these folks crying wolf makes those that really have an issue look like they're pulling the same excuse.
Steve
We'll see in a couple of days...
