Did you see that in the description it states that "THEY HAVE BEEN WASHED"! Hmmmmm ... I wonder if people would have paid more if they were "UNWASHED", as they could have extracted more DNA and sold the DNA in several auctions!!!! LOL

Yeah, it's getting a little crazy out there ... people are willing to pay in excess of $250.00 for A-Rod's friggin underwear. Heck. Madonna gets the underwear AND ITS CONTENTS for free! (Geeze, did I really just write that?)

  • stupid people spend stupid money.
too bad its washed, you could get some genetic material for cloning and start a ball club...unfortunately they would choke in the playoffs year in and year out.

They have to make the playoffs first.

A seller from net54 a few years ago was selling chapstick he said was used by Ted Williams...what's next?
  • I saw the auction mentioned on Sports Collectors Daily (great site if you haven't been to it). The article reads:
"If the game-worn jersey market has passed you by and you'd really like to have a conversation piece, you won't mind bidding on something for which you might take a little abuse.

    ARod's underwear is on eBay.

Saugus, MA-based Sportsworld is back with more game-used baseball underwear. After selling some Red Sox spandex earlier in the year, they're now offering shorts once closed aligned with Alex Rodriguez, Josh Beckett and Kevin Youkilis. The game-used undergarments were salvaged from the trash heap by a Red Sox employee who presumably offered them to Sportsworld. The eBay auction was pulled on Thursday after the auction description made it clear they hadn't been washed.

You can't sell dirty underwear on eBay, apparently, and so Sportsworld owner Phil Castinetti has added "washed" to the description.

'So were they?' asked the Boston Herald.

“They are now,” he laughed. “If they want them washed, they’re washed.”

Phil is a Class A tool.

That's all you need to know.
  • It just occurred to me that the only reason I'd abandon a pair of underwear to a trash heap is if I deemed them "unsalvagable". I guess that games can get kinda long.

Yip, nothing surprises me anymore with that guy.

The man-love some of these guys have for their favorite athletes , would lead me to believe that a game-used jock strap would be a prized purchase. I can't imagine what a certified un-washed speciman would cost.
