Here are three I have: John Clement of the Steelers, Jim Otto, and Ken Burrough.

According to Wikipedia--which of course is always right--0 and 00 are no longer in use in the NFL. That means that effectively these guys have had their numbers retired. But wasn't there some controversy a couple of years ago, when some new player wanted to use 00, and Jim Otto objected?

Another interesting bit from Wikipedia: Jim Otto was number 00 because it sounded like his name: "aught-oh".

Any other favorite zeroes out there?

    I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach)

    I believe Polynice claimed that was not a "zero" but rather an "O" as in the first letter of his name, Olden. He was a ZERO on and off the court though!

    My favorite zero is a different kind. Its the Gus Zernial card from the 1952 Topps set. Its one of the all time Topps cards and worthy of mention here . I'm a techno-tard and has little cranial ability to post. Someone's assistance would be more than welcolme----Thanks in advance--Sonny
