Neenish (Brian) YOU ROCK!!! Top this random act of kindness!!

For those that had the privilege to participate in the stimulus package giveaway done by neenish (Brian Koyama), know that he gave away some good stuff. For those that remember, he did 3 tiers of cards to choose from based on value. I picked 3 from the least valuable because they were players I collect. Thanks to the USPS, mine never showed up. When he asked me in PM about mine, I informed him that there is a chance my former mailman (who is a collector also) decided he would keep them if they were in a yellow bubblemailer. He said he would make it up to me somehow.

Now, I can only recall one time in my life as an adult where I had tears of joy in my eyes. The first time was when my son was born over 10 years ago. the second time was about 10 minutes ago when I opened a package that was left on my front porch.

I don't know how to thank him. I still have chills thinking about such a generous random act of kindness. Brian, I can not tell you how much I appreciate this. Meant even more becauseof timing with my b-day being tomorrow. I am currently in my living room surrounded by empty boxes, stacks of cards and cello and wax wrappers.

I am also currently sitting right next to my gift pictured below. Thanks again Brian. You are #1 on this board in my eyes.

Wow what a very nice gesture! These type of things make this board shine, nothing better than the people on the boards here that enjoy sharing things with fellow collectors. I have been fortunate to give and receive many items with friends and fellow collectors on here and it really makes the hobby worth it.
  • Um...I don't think my cards got here either image But, being serious, Brian is very generous and I definitely enjoyed my part of the giveaway/stimulus package too.

    Wow - incredible. That's above-and-beyond.

Remember that when you think about the fact that today is my birthday and I really like that Mattingly rack pack you just opened.

Like how I made this about me?

Seriously though big ups to neenish. That's incredibly generous.

I like that you cried at the birth of your own flesh and blood, and also at a cold, unfeeling piece of wood. Ahhh, sports. Is there anything they can't do?

Brian is a great guy. He sent me a bunch of nice graded Emmitt cards many a time.

He is surely one of the most giving guys here

    Way to go Brian!

Rube posting is entertaining enough for me image I can just imagine a drunk, caped man running down the road yelling out all sorts of nonsense.

Luckily I, too, have found many, many on these boards that sell, trade, buy, give, and receive cards to/from myself. We can't all be friends, but the overall community here is something we should all be grateful about.

Cheers to all--even to those on my "ignore" list, like neenish, who unfortunately, for reasons known only to himself, chose to be on that list back in 2005. Sadly, we won't be friends, but at least he is being extremely cool to others. I'll give him style points for that.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • Thanks for all the kind words. lsutigers1973 really deserved the auto bat. I should've looked at his sig line and had the cards sent via UPS or FEDX initially. Unfortunately for AkbarClone, I have no clue what happened three years ago (heck, I don't even remember what I had for lunch last Saturday...). What ever happened (seems like it was really important or why would you bring it up three years later?), it should be behind us and I would look forward to pm'ing and talking sports and cards with you on the boards and getting off your "ignore" list.
Some of you might wonder why I give things away. Pure and simply, it's because I use the old addage, "you can't take it with you." I collect things, pickup things and trade/give things away that I don't collect or would think would fit into someone's collection. I have enough stashed away for my collection and kids, so a lot of things just get sent to people for their enjoyment.
That being said, I will be posting some PSA slabs to give away in the near future (I'm shooting for this weekend). I hope AkbarClone would be participating in this give-a-way. image

Wow, what an awesom gift! With all the negativity focused on deadbeats like Arny lately, this is definitely a breath of fresh air.

Neenish is a great guy indeed.
  • My wife has agreed to sleep on the couch tonight so my Murphy bat can sleep in the bed with me. Going tomorrow to find a stand for it. Thanks one more time Brian.
  • Also got this in the mail today. Once again, the random acts of kindness never end around here.
