Game Worn Jerseys.... how does this work?

Roy Oswalt Game Worn Jersey

From the description:
Authentic jersey worn on-field by the players for Major League games
Picture at left is a graphical preview of what the jersey will look like.
Actual jersey will feature the authentic lettering, numbers and all on-field details

So, if these are actual jerseys worn by Oswalt on-field, how can they be available in 6 different sizes ranging from 40 to 60?

Comments

  • I think it's just a marketing gimmick to make it sound like the player wore the jersey when that is not the case... looks like they are just selling jersey like the pro's would wear.

I don't think Oswalt would be able to pitch in a size 60 jersey (I'm not even sure David Wells Jersey was a size 60)

  • If you are correct, then that is a highly deceptive ad.

"On-field" is in reference to the styling and model...game used would be "game used," but in this case, it's just on-field.

  • The fact that you can choose a size is a major clue. If it was game worn, they wouldn't let you choose the size. The description means that all details are the same as the jersey that the player wears during the game.
  • I agree - it is an advertising ploy. Always obtain items from reputable sellers. It also is recommended that you have items examined by experienced appraisers.

    good luck.

Text above is from the listing. I think it is slightly deceptive, but it looks fairly clear is isn't an actual game worn jersey. The first line should say, *Authentic jersey is the same jersey as the Major League players wear during their games (Not game worn).

Either way, the listing is very shady and misleading.

they sweat a lot in Houston. my guess is he started a game in the 60 and finished it in the 40.image

I would hope that buying directly from MLB would be reputable enough, but I guess they aren't above deceptive and misleading text in their advertising.
