DUSTIN PEDROIA....YOUR 2008 MVP!

good for him.

An ignitor for the offense and gold glover defensively.

'Following a 2007 season in which Pedroia helped fuel the Red Sox to a World Series championship and won the AL Rookie of the Year Award, the right-handed hitting machine staged quite an encore.

Pedroia joins Cal Ripken Jr. and Ryan Howard as the only players to win Rookie of the Year and MVP in consecutive years. He is the first second baseman to win the AL MVP since Nellie Fox of the White Sox in 1959. '

Congrats to Pedroia! Now if only I hadn't sold 3 of his best possible cards back in early 2007. After his slow start, I was worried he was the next "Jody Reed", and sold 2 of his 2004 Fleer Hot Prospect Die Cut cards (of only 15), and his 2004 SP Prospects Gold card (the #1 of 10). Whoops!

What a great player!! I love him. After 1949 (before I was born), 1967, 1975, 1978 (Bucky F. Dent), and 2003 (Aaron F. Boone), I thought I would never see a Red Sox World Series. Now, with Pedroia, Ellsbury, Beckett, Lowell, Big Papi, Drew, Bay, Lester, Crisp, Okajima, Papelbon, Francona, Dice K, and others, I think I might see more.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
