Individual '75 baseball raks on ebay have been going for around $175 to $200 each these days so with 288 raks in this case the math would come out to a range of $25,000 to $30,000. I can see it going in this range if it was being sold at a prestigious auction house such as Mastro or Memoryland. But since it is being sold on ebay by a seller with a relatively low seller history it is difficult to say what it will go for.

Sorry...it was a tuff day at work....the correct number of 144 raks (not 288 as I incorrectly stated) was indeed the number I used to come up with $25,000 to $30,000 range.

I'm going to say about 18-20K. This case could command almost twice that if it were consigned to a major auction house, as there is normally a nice premium for a case as rare as this one. The seller is really leaving a lot of $$ on the table by selling it on ebay. For a case like this one, most major auctions would also charge 0% commission on this item.

Auctions like these running parallel to a rak case of 1975 topps really doesn't add a level of comfort I'd need to bid. Couple that with such a low feedback score, I predict it doesn't meet the reserve.
Too many red flags for me to consider bidding on this case (hasn't sold and received any positive feedback since 3/08, then prior to that 10/07, selling 4 cards worth a few dollars AND bam, an unopened 1975 case....)
May very well not be a scam - could be a legit box, but I'm only bidding if I can pick it up and inspect it first before paying for it.
Just a note: Texas is known as a state with a lot, and I do mean a lot of scammers, for a variety of reasons, and is I've read the worst state for internet scammers, stolen credit cards, etc. etc....so be very careful with something like this.
Certainly there are many red flags here---if I were a potential buyer (which I'm not) I'd insist on pickup before payment, like Steve did with the stand-up packs.

and I would be surprised if BBCE is not already aware of this auction.
I spoke to the seller and I am sure that the case is legit. He stated that Mastro has made him an offer to consign it for him as have others. The names of the people at Mastro that contacted him were the real deal and he had logged every conversation he had with them. Mastro is fully aware of the case and its background and knows it is the real thing. The seals on the case have not been tampered with. Mastro was not willing to do it without the consigment fee to the seller. He was concerned that between the buyers premium and the sellers premium he would lose out in the long run. ( I think rube knows something about that). Anyway, he has no problem letting anyone inspect the case, look at it, open it in front of him and is very flexible in meeting any terms any buyer wants. He knows a little about cards nowhere as knowledgable as the board members but does realize it is worth a bunch of money. While I cant remove everyones doubt here I am only reporting some of the conversation I had with him. He was very upfront, had no problem with anything I asked of him as to allowing the case to be opened in front of him and then handing over the cashiers check. He said he would meet at an attorneys office if we wanted. He went beyond the scope in my mind to satisfy any doubts that would arise from a shady transaction.

If the seller had more than 2 selling feedbacks in the last 13 months I would agree with you.

RIP GURU
But damn I'd love to rip through a case like that.
