thoughts on a major seller needed

I'm looking at a couple of cards being sold by vintagerookies. Anyone have any dealings with him/them?

I'm specifically referring to the non-PSA graded cards. Why all the GAI & BCCG? Should I be skeptical of the quality there?

    Famous seller.

    Good FB.

I bought something from them several years ago, but I have no recall what it was.
    Must have worked out.

They always have tons of high grade 86 Fleer. They must have opened a few boxes or something.

I doubt that you have anything to worry about as I believe he is simply a major flipper of cards on eBay. I'm not sure how he does it, but he casts a pretty broad net and picks up key RCs that tend to sell below average. I've lost out to his buying ID on several items in the past only to see the card show up for sale a couple weeks later under vintagerookies.
  • They bought a lot of ungraded cards from me a few years ago that were in superb condition. They were all part of a large collection that I listed on eBay for a friend. I imagine many of them ended up in high grade PSA or BGS holders and resold on eBay.

He basically puts snipes out on every major rookie card in every grade slabbed by every grading company. Then he marks them up by about 25%-35% and lets them sit in his store until they sell. Not a terrible business model and he has a pretty good rep in terms of buying and selling. About a year ago, I bought a slabbed Wilt Chamberlain Fleer RC from him for around $600. When I got the card in hand it had a flaw that wasn't as apparent on the scan, so I asked him if he'd accept a return on the card even though his policy states no return on graded cards. He happily agreed to the refund and once he got the card it was processed immediately. I wouldn't worry too much about dealing with him.
