Some Truly Beautiful Cards From An Old Mastro Auction

I was flipping through a 2001 issue of SMR and came across an advertisement for an old Mastro Auction. Wow, there were some truly beautiful cards in there, to wit:

Wow anyone else feel that a few of those may be trimmed?

That Ruth (card 53) looks like it is a swimmer.

The other 2 look like they are taking a skinny dip too.

    Good for you.

That is the first thing I thought about that Ruth. Though I do not kow, maybe that was common for that card??

If you've read the book "THE CARD" its tough to look at anything that high end that Mastro sells and wonder if its been to the Dr.'s office.

Somebody really should do a history of PSA flips. I've questioned the font on that Jackson flip before and was told it was legit. That font is the one I've seen the fewest of by far. I'm assuming this was used briefly after the font with the slashes through the zeroes and before the others pictured with the red corners rounded. Anyone??

I have seen several flips on Ebay with that font were the lettering seems off and not lined up on the right hand side. I believe that these are legit from what I have read on here.
