would you trust your autographed baseballs having a professional remove an unwanted sig? (link)

saw this ad in the tuff stuff sports collectibles magazine, how does he do this? if i had a babe ruth ball, i would not trust anyone putting any chemicals on it.

  • looks like a cool service if it works... but I'm not sure I would send them an expensive ball... maybe if I could go with it and watch the whole process, I wonder how much they are insured for?

  • I'm not sure if trust is an issue for me, I just wouldn't do it.

I'd keep all other sigs and personal notations just as they were.

I guess it's just a matter of opinion but if I had a Babe Ruth ball with a bunch no name scribbles on it I would rather just have the Ruth.

If you are doing it from a profit motive, to remove signatures to have a "single-signed" for resale, it is not terribly difficult to detect the alteration, and the ball will not be recognized as a true single-signed.

If you are doing it for your own personal aesthetics and enjoyment, that is a different story.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I believe I read that all it takes is a UV light to detect the removal. But, I would be willing to do it if I had any baseballs that would be worth doing that too.
