    Looks okay to me, but I would never spend over $100 on a pack I couldn't inspect in person.

    The thing to look for on cellos are the edges of the cards. The seal itself is almost useless when trying to authenticate them.

    The card eges should be VERY uniform, almost pattern-like. Sort of like a vending box pattern. The edges look good to me on that pack, but raw, un-slabbed packs are a total gamble on e-bay.

    I personally don't trust older cellos just because they're too easy to fabricate. Anybody could do it with just some shrink wrap. I am more inclined to trusting newer cellos with the factory markings on them. Those can be re-sealed / re-glued, but less likely since they do have the factory markings rahter than just blank shrink wrap.

    As far as the Christmas rack, Ripkencollector is exactly right. There has been much discussion on the board about those and you can do a search to find more information. But in short...STAY AWAY!

    The seal and the folds on the back of the 61 cello looks legit from the scan but hard to say for sure unless held in hand.

    The Xmas packs are junk.

    On both of them, click them off as fast as your finger can click the mouse...both are bad buys in my opinion.

    PSA doesn't slab racks and even if they did there is no way they'd slab a bogus X-mas rack. Even GAI, with all its issues, never slabbed those.

    Grote, are you sure? I thought Murphy had some of his Xmas rack backs slabbed when he was grading for GAI.

    Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    Contact packcollector ( on the boards here)...Duncan has plenty of legit unopened material. You could also buy from steve at bbcexchange but I would not touch either of those.

    I think you are right. I thought Murphy did get some slabbed.

    Grote, are you sure? I thought Murphy had some of his Xmas rack backs slabbed when he was grading for GAI.

    Murphy did grade packs for GAI when they first launched (even returned at one point a couple years back, too, for a brief stint), and he also sold many X-mas or holiday racks years back, but GAI never slabbed any X-mas or holiday racks in their holders. My guess is that by the time Mark began grading for GAI he realized that the X-mas racks were not authentic Topps packaged product and GAI made a decision not to holder them. That is why you will never see a GAI slabbed holiday rack up for sale. BTW, most of the holiday racks that you see up for sale on ebay today are far worse than the ones that Murphy was selling way back when. At least those were packaged shortly after issue!

    If Steve Hart is still authenticating packs for PSA, you won;t see an Xmas rack graded by PSA. Even Steve said they are bogus.
