So, I was researching 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan rookies...

...and came across this.

I can't believe this went for $32

    My Giants collection want list

WTB: 2001 Leaf Rookies & Stars Longevity: Ryan Jensen #/25
  • I had heard, several years ago, of someone taking a Ryan rookie to a dealer, asking how much for the card, ultimately liking the price the dealer was willing to pay, came back a day or some days later with the Ryan cut off the Koosman and ready to complete the transaction. Needless to say, no cards and cash swapped hands that day!

Shane how much do you think it should have sold for?

    IMO 32.00 is over priced.

LOL. I have a friend who has a 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan RC that looks just like that one. Back when those first came out, he thought it would be cool to have it in his wallet so to make it fit, it needed to be trimmed. He had a few others so he didn't care at the time.

Whatever the guy is seriously undergrading that card, I bet it would have graded Super Awesome Gem Mint 1,000,000. Also Chuck Norris cut it out by just looking at it.

Yes, that was my point. I would have guess $5 to $10.

We'll likely never know, but if that Ryan could find its way into a "PSA Authentic" holder, I suspect it would sell for > $32.50.

  • Wow, whoever owned that card really hated the brown border. I wonder if he had an entire 68 Topps set like that??
