Myth or Fact? British gold in small Anacs holder undergraded

Recently I bought this 1871L no die shield sovereign from EBay. It is in an old small Anacs holder. I was cautious in my bidding and bought it at around Spink EF value (which I believed was appropriate for the MS62 designation). I am not that familiar with PCGS grading as I have handled more NGC coins in the past but apart from numerous die brakes, this coin is suburb! Any ideas how would grade in a PCGS holder? Also will PCGS attribute the “no die” variety?

The coin deserves far more consideration than the plastic in which it may be currently housed... this is not a slap at TPG, its just to serve as a reminder that collectors need to understand the components of grading, the concept of quality for the grade and in this instance, not all MS62 coins are created equal.

Mine was slabbed it in 2003--I bought it from one of my favorite forumites back when I was in Japan and I carried it with me when I went to a coin show while I was on vacation in Hawaii. Submitted at the show. Don't think I would sell that one ever
I can't say I've seen enough to make a good answer to your question about the grading in general though.

edited to add: looks like Coinkat is awake early Saturday too...I like his answer!
