Selling on Ebay vs. Naxcom vs. Sportlots

I've never tried to sell on Naxcom or Sportlots. For those of you who have, how would you compare the sales experience and success there with Ebay?

Naxcom and ThePit are very competitive with Ebay's fixed price listings. I'm not so sure about Sportlots though, as sellers need to pay a monthly fee to take advantage of the service. Sportlots is great for picking up stray commons you need to complete a set, but I probably wouldn't go hunting for graded stuff on that site.

what are the websites? I've never been on any of them. Thanks.
  • I sell alot on Naxcom buy browsing the buy listings. The search however is slow. Sportslot is not worth selling on unless you are selling 10K or more cards a month as the fees are very high on anything less.

I still say cards will soon start selling well on..........

The niche sites will continue to have a dedicated but NARROW following.

As sellers of general-collectibles start to migrate out of EBAY, the WIDER
audience of buyers will follow. This group contains huge numbers of folks
who are disposed to buy cards. These often first-time card buyers will
dwarf the sophisticated crowds at the niche-sites, and will be MUCH more
    profitable to deal with.

  • My opinions/shopping habits-

Sportlots- I buy low end/commons there. Some offer .60 shipping. Helps when the card is .25
    Never sold there.

    Naxcom- now Sportsbuy-
Buying- I used to buy great deals on their auctions, place offers on overpriced cards in the "store" area
Selling- Generally price a tad higher than it would get via ebay auction and sit and wait and wait and....
No problems selling there. 1 guy said he didn't receive. DC took care of that.

ebay- Most traffic. I'm most active buying/selling there.

I buy and sell on www.sportlots.com. Its a pretty easy interface but its not a place you want to sell high price items. I mostly use it for buying/selling commons, star players. They have fixed shipping rates that are well below what you see on ebay. One draw back in there are no pictures unless you use the auction feature. But for set price cards its a good place to go to finish up a set.

I believe when you sell on sportslots you are not charged unless you sell something. If I remember correctly it doesnt cost anything to list them and have them sit there. But when they sell sportlots gets a certain percentage that you can either redeem for cash or build up an account with them to buy cards.
