What oddball cards are worth more than the "rookie" card?

For example the 1963 Bauer Dairy PSA 10 Pete Rose "books" higher than a Topps versio. Not a card but I am wondering any other "rookies" where the oddball versio is worth more???

For Frank Thomas, there are several, but most importantly is the 1987 Auburn University/Opelika Police Department issue. Came in an 18 card set, Bo Jackson has multiple cards out of the 18.

There are no PSA 10s yet...the only 9 to sell brought in the $350 range...I'm hoping this example gets the 9 grade, but will most likely pull an 8.

Not an oddball, but Thurman Munson's 2nd year card books higher than his rookie card.

1973 topps pin up,1973 topps comic, 1974 deckle white back, 1969 topps super of Brooks Robinson are worth more then the 1957 topps Rookie. Bazooka full boxes also are up there equal to rookie card value. I also have a crown gas card from the early seventies that was used as a mail in offer for a free baseball...card is worth a lot to me .....1972 topps venuzaluen is also up there in price

    Metalmike,

Were you asking about other "rookie" oddball cards that are worth more than a player's mainstream rookie card? That's how I read your original question.

    1956 Kahn's Frank Robinson
    1957 Kahn's Bill Mazeroski

  • If refractors count as oddball, any 1993 Finest RC.

The 1954 Wilson Weiners Ted Williams is worth a LOT more than his 1939 Playball rookie card.

I'd guess the 1972 Puerto Rico sticker of Mike Schmidt sells for more than a 1973 rookie.

By the way, does anyone have a photo of the 1963 Bauer Dairy Pete Rose? I've never seen one.
