Market value of 1955 Topps All American Football #52 LUJACK PSA 8

Could someone please let me know what I should expect to pay for this card? Thanks in advance. This is the first time I've asked for this and will not abuse this.

    Bobby:

    Academic Question:

In a falling-off-a-cliff-market, do buyers really factor "average prices" into their bids?

I ask that because it seems like an "average" of six-months is essentially death-star
    information that could kill folks.

Trends are very good to know, but I hope folks know that the "last price" - with some
exceptions - is REALLY the "right price."

Ooops: Hit the button before I finished my thought/question.........

Would a median-price derived from the listed sales be safer/better to publish than a simple average?

Lots of similar card sales lists, when sorted by date of sale, will have the prices going up and down based on the high or low end qualities of the card. An average price in that case is a more accurate guess on what the next card will sell for. In this case the card has dropped in price every time it came up for sale, so the average price is pretty much worthless.
  • Storm.

In the case for this Lujack card all 5 sales are in the last calendar year. So the high and low prices are tossed and the remaining 3 are averaged out to get to that $188.41 figure. I think this would be the best way to come up with a fair value system.

    OK. Thanks. I get it.

It just seems like the difference between $188.41 and $147.50 is so vast
that if I assume that "average equals safe," I will get killed.
