You have another Nuremberg jeton, like was mentioned recently in another thread.

    Circa 16th to 17th century. Probably mid-1500s.

The "orb" design is common on those. You have a lion on the other side (I think). I had one of those, once, I believe.

That might be the "Lion of St. Mark" type. Here's the page on them again. A "Lion" type is first shown on the page. The illustrations on that page are unfortunately tiny, but it's a good page, nonetheless.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

  • Thanks Lord M!

I like those jetons. I would consider selling everything else to collect them. Well, except for my German empire, notgeld, Italian 20th century, Brazil, Argentina, Swiss, Austria,...... Oh well, I guess I will have to buy more cabinets.image -Dan

It's not my coin either but its always interesting to learn new things. I suspect we'll be doing that to the day we die, eh?
I don't actively collect dates before 1800 or so and due to lack of time and money my collecting has been in a major slump the last 2 years. But I try to help others out when they ask about a coin and when I don't know the answer I know where to go to ask... right here!
    Thanks guys!
