Card #2-Mejias has 49 8s, 2 8.5s, no 9s or 10s

Card 3# Adc#ck has 51 8s, no 8.5s, 2 9s, and no 10s

Adc#ck was a good player on good teams, but the Mejias card routinely sells for 3X Adc#ck.

Does anyone one know why?

    Just guessing... But I think the fact that Mejias is a Pirate may explain the difference. That 1960 team is looked upon quite fondly. I could see a lot of Pirate fans collecting team sets from this year.

    I think you have too much time on your hands if you are thinking about 1960 topps.

    It's widely believed Adc ock's personal trainer injected Adc ock's wife with HGH. People don't like that.

    Or perhaps Mrpeanut is correct.

    no one has produced or bumped the Mejias card in PSA 9 yet.....the first graded 9(if) could realize quite a payday.

    I did not think about the Pirate's factor-that is probably it.

    Some of my most profitable flips of all time have been 1960/1961 Pirates cards.

    As a Pirate fan I don't think Mejias was on the WS team so to me he is DEAD image I collect the 61 Team as they have the 60s stats and WS cards.
    Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set

    Mejias appeared in 3 games for the Pirates in 1960.

    I collect like Morgoth however many collect the actual year so that may be why that card is so desirable.
