Tom Brady "RC" SP: I must be seeing things!

I don't know if I'm getting too old but my eyes HAVE to be playing tricks on me. Take a look at the scans of this "valuable" card and tell me if something seems outawack.
SAY IT AIN'T SO!!

  • Is it supposed to be die cut(corners)?
  • This is a joke, Right? Whomever had this card, has hand cut the corners to round them off.

What a hack job. This is not die cut. Here is the Reuben Droughns of the same parallel version. Link
Currently working on: Kurt Warner PSA 9 or 10

  • I just sent the seller a message asking him if he truly thinks this is a die-cut card.

Why would anyone be selling Brady right now?
  • Ok so I'm not getting too old. And Nah, that card isn't suppose to have flat corners. So now I'm a little happy, sad and getting sick. I know now that the card I have is actually a 1 of 19 now that some idiot has practically rendered that card worthless. I'm sad because someone is going to get screwed and will be very upset. I'm sickened because this card normally sells between $400-500. I'm going to keep an eye on this auction but I don't know why. I guess it's kinda watching a car wreck is slow motion and you know someone's going to get hurt but you just can't turn away.
  • The seller is a power seller with perfect feedback. I am guessing he doesnt realize this card is not supposed to look like that. I dont know how he couldnt know, but if you knew, why would you go on to say the card is MINT. Seriously jeopardizing his perfect feedback rating if he continues forward this auction and actually sells this for any kind of real money.

  • Here's the reply from the seller:

I am not sure as I am not the original owner of the card. I have never seen one of the /20 cards and I just assumed the die cut was part of the /20 characteristic of the card.

I believe him. He makes no mention of it being die-cut in his auction. He probably just didn't know.
  • I got this message from the seller:

I have no idea as I bought in a lot with other brady rookies. Are you
sure the hologold /20 isn't a die cut or something? I know the
regular one isn't but just assumed this one might be different.

I got the same response from him. With so many people apparently emailing him, you would think that he would figure it out. By continuing to sell the card without mentioning that the die cut is not a factory cut, then in my opinion he is now attempting to put one over on someone. This auction will turn out badly for him and probably get him his first negative and a chargeback from Paypal for sure.

  • He ended the acution early. I honestly believe he had no clue.
  • He ended the listing
  • I sent him a link to this thread. I will give him his props for doing the right thing and ending the listing.
  • The seller has relisted it but I think that the title should disclose the damage to the card. Oh well I hope potential buyers read the auction details. Tom Brady

Believe it or not, I still think the card will sell for a higher than usual amount because it is still 1 of 20, or actually .95 of 20

Wouldnt surprise me to still see the card go for $100+. Hopefully it is to someone that knows that the card has been cut and not someone that thinks they're getting a steal.
