Finally! 28 years later

I began collecting a quality set of 1955 Topps baseball cards back in 1979 as a high school kid. After leaving the hobby until about three years ago, I had done nothing more. I am happy to say that today I finally complete the set in PSA 7 or better, both by grading some of my old raw collection and by purchasing on ebay and direct from other collectors. All I can say is that right now I feel both excitement and relief!

Awesome job. One of my favorite sets too. Which card was the last one to finish the set? My set is about 50% complete in PSa 7 and 8s

  • Beautiful set. Sit back and enjoy it. 7's are great cards.

The Duke, appropriately being card #210, was last.. I have a mint, raw Snider I bought back in 1980, but noticed it has a slight paper crease so I couldn't get it graded.

Congrats! That is my favorite set. Sometimes I think about upgrading my set to 7s. You should be proud.
  • Great news! Now you wont be outbidding me! Seriously a tremendous accomplishment, I am about 12 cards away image

    Smallstocks,

Congrats on your accomplishment! I've seen you bid several times over the years. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll share a pic of my display case, which provides an eye-popping presentation of this magnificent set in all it's glory. Cards like these should not stay in a box!

Oddly, I too just completed my 55 Topps set. My last card was Gene Freese, PSA 8.

Congratulations, that's a great set. I'm just collecting some of the Sox & stars from it but I love the look of the whole thing.
