PSA Pack Grading

Anyone have a link to this info. There isnt any info on the submission forms I have.

Just got a couple 74 Topps packs I want to have authenticated/slabbed. Bought them in a lot, which had pack through the mid 80s. Opened the 83 and 85 and got the Gwynn and McGwire RC's, so it seems like the packs are legit, but would rather have them slabbed as I do not plan on opening any of the early 70s stuff.

    Jmoran,

In your experience, how long is the turnaround for pack grading? I've had a sub of 10 packs since 8/6 that I sent under the $10 special.

  • In my experience packs take forever to be graded because they have to be examined for authenticity by Steve first, before they are even graded, and he only drops by PSA headquarters once every 4-6 weeks. My pack submission took over two months, and that was last year.

It had been taking roughly a month before the last pack grading special, my July special took 2 months door to door, I'm sure the National had something to do with it.

  • who is the grader for PSA's packs submissions?

  • I have no idea who grades them, but before any pack is graded, Steve Hart (owner of BBCE) inspects them for authenticity. The main reason that pack grading takes so long is because he only drops by PSA about once every 4-6 weeks. If you submit a pack right after he just finished a visit, you are most likely looking at a two month turnaround.

So the packs I got from Steve (BBCE) are sent back to Steve and then graded.... I sure hope none of my packs come back not authenticated or Steve and I will have some words image
