Real or Fake? Mantle edition

Anyone expert on 1951 Bowmans? These scans aren't the best, but what is available to me. I would love to have this card if it's real. Always makes me nervous. Thanks for any feedback, particularly if you've been through this before! Guy also has a Goudey Ruth. Hmmm....

shouldnt the card stock be brown-ish
not white-ish

I would have to think that anyone who knows how much this card is worth would have had it graded at least 5 years ago.

Assuming it's even real, that's at best a PS2/3 and I'd pay no more than a few hundred.

Garbage/fake. At least you had sense enough to ask -- but if you're that unsure of what a genuine one looks like, stick to buying a PSA or SGC or even BVG one. Absolutely.

1951 bowman printing on back is blue, that one looks more like black. Black was common on the early "reprints" and fakes.

craigslist is normally not the place to purchase those types of cards. you can get a psa 2 for $1500 or so.

actually, post was at CL but it is for sale on another site. i offered the guy 20 bucks as a reprint and told him he should consider ethical issues. he wrote back thanks for your comment. clearly a scumbag.
